area: 5 000 m²
The outdoors space around the new building (resembling the ‘Kellerstöckl-architecture’) is divided into a frontcourt, an event area and a vegetables and herb garden, due to the properties natural topology and required functions. The height difference between the frontcourt and the green area above the wine cellar is graded and overcome by three walls. The resulting raised garden beds are used to grow different vegetables and herbs.
The courtyard is protected by a pergola, which is overgrown by grapevine and, together with the large tree in the center, provide much shade in the summer. Due to the minimal, openly placed design elements, it serves as a perfect event location. The entrances to the apartments are separated through a minimal height difference and a diverse surface finish.
