STYRIA MEDIA CENTER, GRAZ

The open space of the Styria Media Center is not only located around the building on the ground floor but also on top. The streetscape of the busy street Conrad-von-Hötzdendorf is broken up by an urban, representative forecourt towards the fair and exhibition center. It is divided by trees and beds of bushes. Another addition is a number of fountains, which are used as a play area in the summer.
The greenery continues more densely around the building until finally, forming a public park and outdoor area for the kinder garden on the northern edge of the property. The generous, semi-public terraces on the top are equipped with colorful furniture. The plant beds and adjoined seating groups seem like ‘paint splatters’ in the entire areal.
