MESSE OST, GRAZ

The elongated courtyards are divided into design and functional areas through walking paths, different levels and the choice of vegetation. A playground, a hedge maze, a play area for the daycare and kindergarden… A red thread serves as a connecting element in between courtyards, allowing a multifunctional usage due to its shape (dents, rises, flexibility, partially carried out as a bench).

The design vocabulary of the play and seating elements and the loosely planted vegetation provide a special contrast to the building’s architecture. This same intension is carried out in the design of the rooftop gardens.
