The border’s history...
The former customs office buildings tell the story between Slovenia and Austria, a story, most of our descendants can’t remember.
After Slovenia’s entry into the European Union, those buildings became useless in its original form and usage and got a new meaning by turning them into an art location.
To remember the history of this frontier, the road is painted in red and white stripes, resembling the former border posts. They should be seen as a reminiscence of this formerly important line.
However, the marks are transient and will disappear through the frequent use of the street. Only parts will stay untouched.
