TU GRAZ, INFFELDGASSE 16
client: TU Graz
scope Monsberger: planning
start of planning: 03.2021
completion: 07.2021
area: 850 m²
The green planning in the Inffeldgasse connects to the superordinate master plan of the TU Campus. Where tree planting is not possible due to the narrow space, green walls mark the green axes. Self-climbers adhere to exposed concrete walls there, which are continuously checked by the Concrete Institute of Graz University of Technology. In this way, it is documented whether greening measures can cause damage to the concrete.
Green zones, planting areas with interspersed wooden decks and seating areas, create a connection between inside and outside. Because of the basement, they are elevated to provide sufficient roof substrate buildup for the plants. The space, structured in this way, greatly accommodates the users' desire for more green space to spend time during breaks and informal outdoor meetings.
